We are currently seeking a highly motivated and organized Paralegal to join our Litigation Practice Group focusing on Medical Malpractice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting attorneys in various litigation matters, from case inception through resolution.
Key Responsibilities
<ul><li>Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing litigation cases, including organizing case files, tracking deadlines, and ensuring all case documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible.</li><li>
Discovery: Conduct and manage all aspects of discovery processes, including document collection, review, and production. Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.</li><li>
Legal Research: Perform legal research using standard legal research tools to support motions, briefs, and other legal documents.</li><li>
Document Preparation: Draft, review, and revise legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, briefs, and settlement agreements under the supervision of attorneys.</li><li>
Court Support: Assist with trial preparation by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, coordinating with witnesses, and attending court proceedings as needed.</li><li>
Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding case status, document collection, and general inquiries, ensuring effective and timely communication.</li><li>
Administrative Duties: Manage calendars, schedule meetings, hearings, depositions, and manage attorney schedules to ensure smooth workflow.</li></ul>
Qualifications
<ul><li>Education: An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, or completion of a paralegal certification program (or comparable experience).</li><li>
Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on litigation, civil procedure, and trial support.</li><li>
Skills: (1) Exceptional organizational skills with a meticulous attention to detail; (2) Strong written and verbal communication abilities; (3) Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and document management systems; (4) Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.</li><li>
Nice to Have: (1) Experience with electronic discovery processes and software; (2) Knowledge of local and state court procedures.</li></ul>
