<h3>About the role</h3><p>We are seeking a dedicated Backend Engineer to join our remote team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, enhancing, and maintaining backend systems that support our core applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions that meet the needs of our users.</p><h3>Key responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs to support application functionality.</li><li>Collaborate with frontend engineers and product managers to create seamless integrations between the backend and user interfaces.</li><li>Participate in code reviews and contribute to team best practices, ensuring high-quality and maintainable code.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, bugs, and other technical challenges in a timely manner.</li><li>Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for backend services, APIs, and system architecture.</li><li>Continuously learn and apply best practices in software development, including testing, version control, and deployment processes.</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, Node.js, or Ruby.</li><li>Familiarity with web frameworks and RESTful API design principles.</li><li>Understanding of database management systems, both SQL and NoSQL, and their application in backend architectures.</li><li>Basic knowledge of cloud services and platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) as they relate to backend development.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote work environment.</li><li>Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.</li></ul><h3>Nice to have</h3><ul><li>Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems, particularly Git.</li><li>Exposure to microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker.</li><li>Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.</li><li>Interest in learning about new technologies and applying them to improve our backend systems.</li><li>Prior involvement in open-source projects or contributions to community forums.</li></ul><h3>Why join us</h3><p>Joining our team means becoming part of an innovative and collaborative environment where your ideas and contributions will be valued.
