Job OverviewLaird Manufacturing is seeking a skilled AG In-Shop Mechanic to diagnose, repair, maintain, and fabricate agricultural equipment in a shop environment. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and performance through quality repairs and preventive maintenance.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in agricultural machinery</li><li>Perform repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance to restore proper equipment function</li><li>Replace worn or damaged components and coordinate materials to minimize downtime</li><li>Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and fittings</li><li>Diagnose and repair electrical systems such as wiring, sensors, switches, and control modules</li><li>Perform welding and fabrication work to repair or modify metal components</li><li>Inspect completed repairs to ensure quality, safety, and manufacturer standards are met</li><li>Accurately document service work, parts usage, and repair records</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area with properly secured tools</li><li>Follow all company safety policies and Cal/OSHA regulations, including proper PPE use</li><li>Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred</li><li>Experience repairing agricultural, diesel, or heavy equipment</li><li>Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems</li><li>Welding and fabrication experience preferred</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information</li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team</li><li>Commitment to safety, quality, and customer service</li><li>Authorized to work in the United States</li></ul>Physical Requirements &amp; Work Environment<ul><li>Ability to lift and move parts weighing up to 50 lbs</li><li>Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces as needed</li><li>Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibration, welding heat, and sparks</li><li>Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery</li><li>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions, in accordance with California law</li></ul>Schedule, Pay &amp; Compliance<ul><li>Full-time, hourly position</li><li>Overtime paid in accordance with California wage and hour laws</li><li>California-compliant meal and rest periods</li><li>Flexible hours with occasional overtime during peak seasons</li></ul>Equal Employment Opportunity &amp; At-Will EmploymentLaird Manufacturing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
