Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. Join us to drive financial excellence and contribute to impactful missions through meticulous financial stewardship.Duties<ul><li>Manage and oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing using advanced accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.</li><li>Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements, including adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant standards.</li><li>Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify accuracy and completeness of financial data.</li><li>Lead the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses that communicate financial health clearly to stakeholders.</li><li>Implement and maintain internal controls for cash management, double-entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting practices to safeguard assets and ensure operational efficiency.</li><li>Coordinate and facilitate annual audits by providing accurate documentation and explanations of financial activities.</li><li>Develop and monitor budgets aligned with organizational goals while conducting forecasting activities to support strategic planning initiatives.</li><li>Execute daily tasks related to general ledger reconciliation, account analysis, and account reconciliation processes.</li><li>Ensure compliance with accounting standards as applicable, maintaining transparency in all financial dealings.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field preferred.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of accounting or bookeeping experience.</li><li>Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, report writing, and account reconciliation processes.</li><li>Proficiency in accounting software and experience with financial management tools.</li><li>Strong knowledge of cash management techniques, accounts payable/receivable procedures, and regulatory reporting requirements.</li><li>Excellent technical accounting skills including bookkeeping, debits &amp; credits management, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.</li><li>Ability to interpret complex financial concepts clearly and communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences.</li><li>Experience with budgeting, forecasting, account analysis, and account reconciliation within non-profit or governmental organizations is highly desirable.</li><li>Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.</li></ul>Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Flexible schedule</li></ul>People with a criminal record are encouraged to applyEducation:<ul><li>Bachelor's (Required)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Accounting: 5 years (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Lake Saint Louis, MO 63367 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Lake Saint Louis, MO 63367
