Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. Duties
- Manage and oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing using advanced accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements, including adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant standards.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Lead the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses that communicate financial health clearly to stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain internal controls for cash management, double-entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting practices to safeguard assets and ensure operational efficiency.
- Coordinate and facilitate annual audits by providing accurate documentation and explanations of financial activities.
- Develop and monitor budgets aligned with organizational goals while conducting forecasting activities to support strategic planning initiatives.
- Execute daily tasks related to general ledger reconciliation, account analysis, and account reconciliation processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards as applicable, maintaining transparency in all financial dealings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting or bookeeping experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, report writing, and account reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software and experience with financial management tools.
- Strong knowledge of cash management techniques, accounts payable/receivable procedures, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Excellent technical accounting skills including bookkeeping, debits & credits management, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
- Ability to interpret complex financial concepts clearly and communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, account analysis, and account reconciliation within non-profit or governmental organizations is highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
