Laney Recycling and Aggregate, located on Old Gunpowder Road in Laurel, MD, is searching for an Accounting Clerk. The Accounting Clerk must maintain a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and problem-solving skills. Additionally, they must also possess strong attention to detail and communication skills.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Billing</li>
<li>Managing accounts receivable processing and collections</li>
<li>Accounts Payable Entry and payment processing</li>
<li>Communicate with third parties regarding credit applications/customer payments</li>
<li>Preparing bank deposits</li>
<li>Credit Account Management</li>
<li>Account Reconciliation and Business Metrics Tracking</li>
</ul>
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
<ul>
<li>Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic</li>
<li>Ability to verify the mathematical accuracy of accounting documents</li>
<li>Ability to multi-task between business operations</li>
<li>Well organized, motivated, and able to work independently and as a part of a team</li>
<li>Ability to handle multiple projects and manage time and workload</li>
<li>Ability to sort/file accounting documentation</li>
<li>Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook</li>
<li>Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check</li>
</ul>
SALARY/HOURLY EXEMPTION: 
<ul>
<li>Full-Time, Exempt Position</li>
<li>Salary based on knowledge, experience, and education</li>
</ul>
WORKING CONDITIONS: 
<ul>
<li>Office Environment located at the Recycling yard</li>
</ul>
WORKING HOURS/EXPECTATIONS: 
<ul>
<li>Monday - Friday</li>
<li>This is an exempt position</li>
</ul>
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: 
<ul>
<li>Stand and sit for prolonged amounts of time</li>
<li>Walk, bend, kneel, and twist</li>
<li>Talk and hear</li>
<li>Lift and move up to 50 pounds at times</li>
</ul>
EDUCATION: 
<ul>
<li>High school or equivalent is required. An associate or a bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.</li>
</ul>
NON-ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
<ul>
<li>Prior construction industry accounting experience a plus</li>
<li>Knowledge of Foundations software</li>
</ul>
EXPERIENCE: 
<ul>
<li>Must have three (3) years experience in accounting functions</li>
</ul>
