Job Summary Legal Asst/Paralegal needed immediately. Employer provides tax-free monthly contribution to employee for health benefits, in addition to holiday, personal, sick and vacation. Heavy motion practice. Duties will include drafting pleadings and motions; correspondence to court; trial prep. Candidates must be familiar with and be able to file a motion from beginning to end. This paid position is perfect for someone eager to develop their legal career while contributing to impactful legal work.Duties<ul><li>Assist attorneys with legal research using LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to gather relevant case law, statutes, in family law, estate and civil litigation, municipal and governmental</li><li>Prepare and review legal documents including contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, affidavits, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail</li><li>Manage case files using document management systems like and PCLaw; ensure all files are organized, up-to-date, and easily accessible</li><li>Conduct thorough document review and proofreading to ensure accuracy before filing or submission</li><li>Support litigation processes through document review, data entry, filing in courts or electronic systems, and maintaining case calendars</li><li>Perform client interviews and gather necessary information while adhering to confidentiality standards; assist with client communication under attorney supervision</li><li>Coordinate project management tasks such as scheduling meetings, tracking deadlines for cases, and ensuring timely completion of tasks</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Strong knowledge of diverse legal practice areas including estate litigation, family law, and civil litgation.</li><li>Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis; familiarity with legal case management software like iManage or PCLaw is highly desirable</li><li>Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy</li><li>Effective writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities for error-free work</li><li>Experience with document review processes and familiarity with contracts and legal drafting standards</li><li>Strong administrative skills including data entry, filing systems management, transcription services, and clerical support within a busy law office environment</li><li>Exceptional phone etiquette coupled with professional communication skills for interacting with clients and team members</li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently using project management techniques; experience supporting attorneys in high-pressure situations is a plus</li></ul>Pay: $52,901.58 - $63,709.43 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Free parking</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid sick time</li><li>Travel reimbursement</li></ul>Work Location: In person
