Job Summary
Legal Asst/Paralegal needed immediately. Employer provides tax-free monthly contribution to employee for health benefits, in addition to holiday, personal, sick and vacation. Heavy motion practice. Duties will include drafting pleadings and motions; correspondence to court; trial prep. Candidates must be familiar with and be able to file a motion from beginning to end. At least five years solid litigation experience is needed.

Duties
- Assist attorneys with legal research using LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to gather relevant case law, statutes, in family law, estate and civil litigation, municipal and governmental
- Prepare and review legal documents including contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, affidavits, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail
- Manage case files using document management systems like and PCLaw; ensure all files are organized, up-to-date, and easily accessible
- Conduct thorough document review and proofreading to ensure accuracy before filing or submission
- Support litigation processes through document review, data entry, filing in courts or electronic systems, and maintaining case calendars
- Perform client interviews and gather necessary information while adhering to confidentiality standards; assist with client communication under attorney supervision
- Coordinate project management tasks such as scheduling meetings, tracking deadlines for cases, and ensuring timely completion of tasks
Skills
- Strong knowledge of diverse legal practice areas including estate litigation, family law, and civil litgation.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis; familiarity with legal case management software like iManage or PCLaw is highly desirable
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy
- Effective writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities for error-free work
- Experience with document review processes and familiarity with contracts and legal drafting standards
- Strong administrative skills including data entry, filing systems management, transcription services, and clerical support within a busy law office environment
- Exceptional phone etiquette coupled with professional communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently using project management techniques; experience supporting attorneys in high-pressure situations is a plus
Pay: $52,901.58 - $63,709.43 per year
