This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex family law cases while honing your paralegal skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment.Duties<ul><li>Assist attorneys with all aspects of matrimonial and family law cases, including divorce, child custody, alimony, and property division.</li><li>Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies.</li><li>Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, affidavits, settlement agreements, and court filings with precision and clarity.</li><li>Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw to ensure accurate recordkeeping and timely updates.</li><li>Coordinate client interviews and gather necessary documentation through effective interviewing techniques.</li><li>Prepare for court appearances by organizing exhibits, reviewing case materials, and ensuring all documentation is accurate.</li><li>Maintain excellent communication with clients, attorneys, courts, and other stakeholders via phone etiquette and professional correspondence.</li><li>Support administrative functions including data entry, filing, proofreading, transcription, and scheduling to keep the office running smoothly.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Proven paralegal experience with a strong background in family law or matrimonial cases.</li><li>Familiarity with legal case management software such as PCLaw, iManage, Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar platforms.</li><li>Knowledge of relevant legal areas including estate planning, environmental law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), tribal law &amp; regulations, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, patent law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, litigation procedures, contracts, and document review processes.</li><li>Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.</li><li>Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw or LexisNexis for complex legal issues.</li><li>Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents and correspondence.</li><li>Ability to perform legal proofreading and transcription accurately under tight deadlines.</li><li>Effective interviewing techniques to gather comprehensive client information.</li><li>Administrative experience supporting a busy law office environment with clerical tasks such as filing and data entry.</li><li>Professional demeanor with strong phone etiquette and organizational skills to support team operations.
