Matrimonial Paralegal

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Matrimonial Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will support family law practitioners by managing case files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and coordinating client communications. Your expertise will help ensure smooth case progression and uphold the highest standards of legal service in matrimonial matters. Duties

  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of matrimonial and family law cases, including divorce, child custody, alimony, and property division.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, affidavits, settlement agreements, and court filings with precision and clarity.
  • Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw to ensure accurate recordkeeping and timely updates.
  • Coordinate client interviews and gather necessary documentation through effective interviewing techniques.
  • Prepare for court appearances by organizing exhibits, reviewing case materials, and ensuring all documentation is accurate.
  • Maintain excellent communication with clients, attorneys, courts, and other stakeholders via phone etiquette and professional correspondence.
  • Support administrative functions including data entry, filing, proofreading, transcription, and scheduling to keep the office running smoothly.

Requirements

  • Proven paralegal experience with a strong background in family law or matrimonial cases.
  • Familiarity with legal case management software such as PCLaw, iManage, Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal areas including estate planning, environmental law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), tribal law & regulations, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, patent law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, litigation procedures, contracts, and document review processes.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw or LexisNexis for complex legal issues.
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents and correspondence.
  • Ability to perform legal proofreading and transcription accurately under tight deadlines.
  • Effective interviewing techniques to gather comprehensive client information.
  • Administrative experience supporting a busy law office environment with clerical tasks such as filing and data entry.

Pay: $19.00 - $32.63 per hour
