Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Secretary to support our attorneys in both family law and personal injury matters. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of managing a busy caseload with professionalism and compassion. This position involves direct client communication, document preparation, scheduling, and case management responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:Family Law Duties:<ul><li>Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, affidavits, financial disclosures, parenting plans, and other family court documents.</li><li>File documents electronically with state and local courts (e-filing).</li><li>Maintain and organize client files, discovery materials, and correspondence.</li><li>Schedule hearings, mediations, depositions, and client meetings.</li><li>Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel in a professional and courteous manner.</li><li>Track deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and filing requirements.</li></ul>Personal Injury Duties:<ul><li>Draft and send demand letters, discovery responses, and settlement documents.</li><li>Gather, review, and summarize medical records, bills, and other evidence.</li><li>Maintain case calendars and litigation timelines.</li><li>Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits and witness lists.</li><li>Communicate with insurance adjusters, medical providers, and clients regarding case status.</li><li>Prepare settlement statements and assist with disbursement documentation.</li></ul>General Office/Administrative Duties:<ul><li>Answer and route phone calls; greet clients and visitors.</li><li>Manage attorney calendars and schedule appointments.</li><li>Prepare correspondence, maintain office filing systems (digital and physical), and perform data entry.</li><li>Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including certified filings.</li><li>Support attorneys with billing, timekeeping, and administrative reporting as needed.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Work Location: In person
