If this is something you believe in too, we encourage you to apply.Your tasks in this role are to:<ul><li>Schedule appointments, tests and treatments as needed for patients</li><li>Process telephone calls, referrals, prior authorizations and pre-certifications</li><li>Assist with Value Based Care initiatives, including contacting patients, working with management and insurance representatives, documenting and reporting measures</li><li>Prepare patients for exam and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs, performing medication reconciliation and updating information</li><li>Prepare exam and treatment rooms with the necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization</li><li>Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy</li><li>Assist physicians and health care providers in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>One year of Medical Assisting or other applicable clinical work experience is preferred</li><li>Medical Assistant Certification or Registration - required OR</li><li>Medical Assistants who recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from a Medical Assisting training program must obtain Medical Assistant certification within 60 days of employment OR</li><li>Candidates/incumbents with one year of Medical Assistant work experience</li></ul>If you are interested in joining our clinic team, we encourage you to apply today. If this is something you believe in too, we encourage you to apply.Essential responsibilities:<ul><li>Responsible for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients through collaboration with a designated physician.</li><li>Assess and treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma in collaboration with Physician.</li><li>Collaborate with the physician in the health care of patients with chronic illnesses.</li><li>Educate patients and/or families about preventive care, positive behaviors, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.</li><li>Maintain legible, accurate, and confidential medical records. Document all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations.</li><li>Order diagnostic tests as appropriate.</li><li>Prescribe medications within scope of license.</li><li>Facilitate evaluation of records by physicians according to protocols and receive and implement constructive directives.</li><li>Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, self-care skills, and use of prescribed medical treatments and medications through education and counseling.</li><li>Regular attendance to ensure efficient operations.</li><li>Assist in patient flow through patient triage and other nursing duties as needed.</li><li>Other clinic duties and responsibilities as assigned.</li></ul>QualificationsCurrent licensure as a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner. Ability to learn and utilize Electronic Medical Records system. Flexible, self-motivated individual who is dedicated to quality patient care and customer satisfaction. Excellent communication skills. Works effectively in a team environment as well as independently. Projects a positive image and attitude.
