Medical Assistant

Your tasks in this role are to:

• Schedule appointments, tests and treatments as needed for patients
• Process telephone calls, referrals, prior authorizations and pre-certifications
• Assist with Value Based Care initiatives, including contacting patients, working with management and insurance representatives, documenting and reporting measures
• Prepare patients for exam and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs, performing medication reconciliation and updating information
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with the necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
• Assist physicians and health care providers in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals

Qualifications

• One year of Medical Assisting or other applicable clinical work experience is preferred
• Medical Assistant Certification or Registration - required OR
• Medical Assistants who recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from a Medical Assisting training program must obtain Medical Assistant certification within 60 days of employment OR
• Candidates/incumbents with one year of Medical Assistant work experience
