We provide a wide range of environmental testing services for drinking water, wastewater, and other environmental samples.Position Summary &ndash; Laboratory Technician IThe Laboratory Technician I is an entry-level position responsible for performing laboratory and field duties in support of environmental testing. This role includes routine weekend and occasional holiday hours.Schedule:<ul><li>Sunday &ndash; Thursday, 8:00 AM &ndash; 5:00 PM</li><li>Occasional holidays (as required)</li><li>Mandatory rotations when assigned</li><li>Overtime as needed</li></ul>Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Receive samples from clients and log into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)</li><li>Perform basic microbiological analyses (e.g., coliform bacteria testing)</li><li>Conduct basic inorganic chemistry analyses (e.g., pH, turbidity)</li><li>Notify clients of test results</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation of analyses</li><li>Monitor incubator and refrigerator temperatures</li><li>Disinfect laboratory surfaces, autoclave biological waste, and maintain general housekeeping</li><li>Conduct onsite wastewater and drinking water sampling</li><li>Prepare and stock bottles, assemble bottle orders for clients</li><li>Pick up and deliver samples using company vehicles</li><li>Perform other duties in the laboratory or field as needed</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>High school diploma and two years of laboratory or related experience required</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Microbiology or other science-related field preferred</li><li>Ability to work with laboratory chemicals, including acids and solvents</li><li>Familiarity with computer systems for sample receiving</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license for company vehicle use</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs</li></ul>Skills &amp; Attributes<ul><li>Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage time effectively</li><li>Good customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills</li><li>Mechanical aptitude and stamina</li><li>Sound judgment and common sense</li></ul>Additional Information<ul><li>Status: Non-Exempt</li><li>Compensation: $20/hr</li><li>Reports to: Department Manager</li><li>LEGEND offers competitive pay and is an Equal Opportunity Employer</li><li>LEGEND maintains a drug-free workplace; pre-employment drug testing required</li></ul>How to Apply Apply via Indeed with your resume.
