About the Role:We are seeking a highly responsible and experienced Resource &amp; Relations Director to provide technical, organizational, and confidential support to the District Manager and act as a liaison across several departments. This is a key leadership role overseeing administrative operations, human resources, insurance administration, and official board support.Key Responsibilities:Administrative Support:<ul><li>Provide high-level administrative assistance to the District Manager and Board of Commissioners</li><li>Prepare correspondence, reports, and board meeting minutes</li><li>Act as liaison to external agencies and the Chamber of Commerce</li><li>Oversee front office operations, including supply procurement and mail routing</li></ul>Human Resources Administration:<ul><li>Manage recruitment processes and onboarding tasks</li><li>Coordinate background checks, drug screenings, and compliance tracking</li><li>Maintain employee records and assist with benefits and compensation administration</li><li>Advise department heads on HR-related issues</li></ul>Insurance Administration:<ul><li>Administer employee benefits programs including health, life, and workers&rsquo; comp</li><li>Maintain insurance documentation and ensure accurate reporting</li><li>Coordinate with providers for employee benefits and claims management</li></ul>Board Secretary Responsibilities:<ul><li>Attend and document Board of Supervisors meetings</li><li>Maintain official records and district seal</li><li>Certify meeting minutes and resolutions</li><li>Serve as Deputy Secretary or Assistant Secretary as needed</li><li>Act as Confidential Employee during Collective Bargaining negotiations</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree required; Master&rsquo;s preferred (Public Administration, HR, Business, or related field)</li><li>Minimum 5 years experience in government or related administrative role</li><li>Strong understanding of HR laws, Florida administrative procedures, and public records management</li><li>Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills</li><li>Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion</li></ul>Certifications &amp; Memberships:<ul><li>Membership in SHRM and Public Relations associations (required or willing to obtain)</li><li>Notary Public, State of Florida (preferred)</li><li>Continuing education participation required</li></ul>Supervisory Responsibilities:<ul><li>Direct supervision of administrative support staff</li><li>Authority to recommend hiring, evaluations, disciplinary actions, and terminations</li><li>Promote professionalism and development within the department</li></ul>Additional Information:<ul><li>This position requires attending public board meetings outside of regular hours</li><li>Meet legal custodial responsibilities for official records</li><li>Designated as a Confidential Employee under the Public Employee Relations Commission</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $87,378.20 - $108,097.60 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Tuition reimbursement</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
