Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Senior Tax Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence our financial health through innovative tax solutions and meticulous analysis.Responsibilities<ul><li>Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current laws and regulations.</li><li>Lead tax planning strategies, including estate planning, mergers &amp; acquisitions, and corporate restructuring initiatives.</li><li>Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, to identify tax implications and opportunities for savings.</li><li>Manage regulatory reporting requirements such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and other statutory filings.</li><li>Collaborate with internal teams on financial report writing, interpretation of financial concepts, and ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).</li><li>Oversee audit processes related to tax and financial reporting, supporting external auditors with necessary documentation.</li><li>Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar tools for bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.</li><li>Support non-profit accounting functions including accounts payable, asset management, and budget analysis when applicable.</li><li>Provide guidance on securities law compliance, private equity transactions, and investment-related tax considerations.</li><li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws affecting financial sales, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and other specialized areas to ensure ongoing compliance.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Extensive experience in tax accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting standards.</li><li>Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent platforms for bookkeeping and financial analysis.</li><li>Deep knowledge of estate planning, wills, trusts &amp; estate law to advise on related tax strategies.</li><li>Strong analysis skills for financial report interpretation and account reconciliation processes.</li><li>Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and regulatory reporting procedures.</li><li>Ability to perform detailed account analysis involving debits &amp; credits, double entry bookkeeping, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.</li><li>Experience working within public accounting firms or corporate accounting departments with a focus on mergers &amp; acquisitions or financial services.</li><li>Excellent understanding of financial concepts related to asset management, private equity investments, payroll processing, budgeting, and financial planning.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial information clearly through written reports and presentations.</li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
