Job Description &ndash; Welder/FabricatorPay range: &pound;45,000 - &pound;60,000 (Based on skills and overtime.)Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day running of our new plant, carrying out high-quality fabrication and welding work, supporting maintenance activities, and contributing to continuous improvement across the operation.This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional who takes pride in their workmanship and enjoys working as part of a skilled, team-focused environment.<ul><li>Average 45hr week with overtime available, flexibility required for holiday/sickness cover.</li></ul>Duties<ul><li>Carry out welding and fabrication work to a high standard in line with drawings and specifications</li><li>Fabricate metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to meet detailed specifications.</li><li>Cut, shape, and assemble metal components, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety standards.</li><li>Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to guide fabrication processes.</li><li>Conduct quality checks on finished products, ensuring they meet industry standards and client requirements.</li><li>Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.</li><li>Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into final products or structures as needed.</li><li>Strong knowledge of fabrication processes involving sheet metal and structural components.</li><li>Competence with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.</li><li>Support planned preventative maintenance activities in collaboration with the wider team</li><li>Assist in identifying problem areas and opportunities for process improvement</li><li>Perform repairs and modifications to plant, machinery, and equipment</li><li>Liaise with contractors and subcontractors as required</li><li>Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations</li><li>Respond promptly to equipment faults or breakdowns, carrying out repairs where possible</li><li>Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment</li></ul>Skills &amp; ExperienceEssential:<ul><li>Proven experience in welding and fabrication (MIG/TIG/Stick as applicable)</li><li>Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings</li><li>Strong hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail</li><li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a team</li><li>Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude</li><li>Commitment to quality and safe working practices</li></ul>Desirable / Advantageous:<ul><li>Basic mechanical maintenance skills</li><li>Experience working in a manufacturing or plant environment</li><li>Knowledge of pneumatics or hydraulic systems</li><li>Experience assisting with machinery installation or repair</li><li>Any electrical knowledge or fault-finding capability</li></ul>About YouThis role would suit someone with a practical, team-focused approach, who is confident in their welding and fabrication abilities but also willing to support wider plant maintenance tasks when needed.
