Job DescriptionStepping Stones Early Learning Center is seeking a dependable, nurturing, and motivated Early Childhood Teacher to join our licensed program. This position involves caring for and educating children from 6 weeks through school age in a positive, engaging environment.We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a passion for early childhood education, and a willingness to learn and grow within our program.Responsibilities<ul><li>Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children</li><li>Supervise and care for children ages 6 weeks&ndash;school age</li><li>Collaborate with co-teachers to develop and implement curriculum plans</li><li>Facilitate learning through an emergent curriculum approach</li><li>Observe, assess, and document children&rsquo;s growth and development</li><li>Maintain daily communication with families and team members</li><li>Assist with daily routines, including:</li><li>Meal preparation and service</li><li>Diapering and toileting</li><li>Feeding</li><li>Classroom cleaning and organization</li><li>Participate in required trainings, meetings, and professional development</li><li>Complete training in Creative Curriculum and Early Head Start/Head Start (provided after hire)</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED (required)</li><li>Age 18+ (21+preferred)</li><li>CDA or ECE degree (preferred)</li><li>CDA required after hire if not currently held (paid by employer)</li><li>Valid Indiana driver&rsquo;s license or State ID</li><li>Ability to pass FBI State and Federal background check and drug screening</li><li>Must complete CPR/First Aid certification and TB test upon hire</li></ul>Skills &amp; Abilities:<ul><li>Strong communication and problem-solving skills</li><li>Dependable and punctual</li><li>Energetic, patient, and nurturing</li><li>Able to actively engage with children (including floor play)</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs</li></ul>Benefits<ul><li>Paid vacation time</li><li>Paid holidays</li><li>Monday&ndash;Friday schedule (no weekends)</li><li>Paid training and continuing education</li><li>Employee childcare discount</li></ul>Schedule<ul><li>Monday to Friday; full time only; 9 hour shifts, with a 1 hour break</li><li>No weekends</li></ul>Work Location<ul><li>In person (Portage, IN)</li></ul>Additional Information<ul><li>Participation in Paths to Quality and state-required trainings is expected</li><li>Opportunities for growth and advancement within the center</li></ul>Apply today to join a team dedicated to making a positive impact in children&rsquo;s lives!Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: From $13.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Employee discount</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Tuition reimbursement</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>Driver's License (Required)</li></ul>Shift availability:<ul><li>Day Shift (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
