Job Description

Stepping Stones Early Learning Center is seeking a dependable, nurturing, and motivated Early Childhood Teacher to join our licensed program. This position involves caring for and educating children from 6 weeks through school age in a positive, engaging environment.

We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a passion for early childhood education, and a willingness to learn and grow within our program.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children
• Supervise and care for children ages 6 weeks–school age
• Collaborate with co-teachers to develop and implement curriculum plans
• Facilitate learning through an emergent curriculum approach
• Observe, assess, and document children’s growth and development
• Maintain daily communication with families and team members
• Assist with daily routines, including:
• Meal preparation and service
• Diapering and toileting
• Feeding
• Classroom cleaning and organization
• Participate in required trainings, meetings, and professional development
• Complete training in Creative Curriculum and Early Head Start/Head Start (provided after hire)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Age 18+ (21+preferred)
• CDA or ECE degree (preferred)
• CDA required after hire if not currently held (paid by employer)
• Valid Indiana driver’s license or State ID
• Ability to pass FBI State and Federal background check and drug screening
• Must complete CPR/First Aid certification and TB test upon hire

• Energetic, patient, and nurturing
• Able to actively engage with children (including floor play)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Schedule

• Monday to Friday; full time only; 9 hour shifts, with a 1 hour break
• No weekends
