Derbyshire Preschool has been serving families in our community for over 50 years as a mission of Derbyshire Baptist Church! Our half-day preschool program serves children from 6 months through PK.

Derbyshire Preschool is seeking individuals as Assistant Teacher is our program for ages 6 months through PK.

Candidates responsibilities will include:

Assisting in a class of children in a manner consistent with the philosophy of Derbyshire Preschool. This includes, but is not limited to:

Treating each child with dignity and respect.

Providing an atmosphere of love and acceptance in a Christian environment that is consistent, caring, and positive.

Encouraging each child to develop a positive self-image and respect for others.

Providing guidance to each child to make good choices and to develop a sense of personal responsibility.

Encouraging the children to think creatively and to stimulate their curiosity about the world and an awareness of God’s love. Art activities should be the work of the children, not the adults.

Core Responsibilities:

• Support the classroom Teacher & school Administration.
• Coordinate classroom activities.
• Assist in teaching preschool curriculum.
• Assist in teaching preschool basics.
• Coordinate class schedules.
• Conduct daily classroom routines.
• Greet & foster relationships with students & their families, as well as developing rapport with fellow staff.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

• High school or equivalent (Required)
