Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting the organization&rsquo;s financial health through accurate record-keeping and analysis. The ideal candidate will bring technical accounting skills, proficiency with various accounting software, and a passion for maintaining financial integrity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing organization committed to excellence in financial management.Responsibilities<ul><li>Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger postings to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.</li><li>Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment processing.</li><li>Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify the accuracy of financial data across multiple accounts.</li><li>Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including financial statement preparation and variance analysis.</li><li>Utilize accounting software to streamline financial operations.</li><li>Ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit requirements for financial reporting.</li><li>Assist with payroll management using Paychex with data entry and payroll reconciliation.</li><li>Collaborate on budgeting, financial analysis, and tax preparation activities to support organizational goals.</li><li>Maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards when applicable.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li><li>Experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments helpful.</li><li>Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and technical accounting concepts.</li><li>Proficiency in working with accounting software.</li><li>Experience with payroll systems Paychex is heloful.</li><li>Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal control processes.</li><li>Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; experience with 10-key typing preferred.</li><li>Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account analysis and reconcile accounts efficiently.</li><li>Knowledge of tax regulations related to corporate or non-profit organizations is advantageous.</li><li>Ability to interpret financial concepts clearly and communicate findings effectively across teams.
