Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting the organization’s financial health through accurate record-keeping and analysis. The ideal candidate will bring technical accounting skills, proficiency with various accounting software, and a passion for maintaining financial integrity. Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger postings to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment processing.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify the accuracy of financial data across multiple accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
- Utilize accounting software to streamline financial operations.
- Ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit requirements for financial reporting.
- Assist with payroll management using Paychex with data entry and payroll reconciliation.
- Collaborate on budgeting, financial analysis, and tax preparation activities to support organizational goals.
- Maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards when applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments helpful.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and technical accounting concepts.
- Proficiency in working with accounting software.
- Experience with payroll systems Paychex is heloful.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal control processes.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; experience with 10-key typing preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account analysis and reconcile accounts efficiently.
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to corporate or non-profit organizations is advantageous.
