<div>Overview:
We are seeking a locally based HR Consultant to provide hands-on HR support on a part-time, as-needed basis. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working with small organizations to help them build strong people systems, ensure compliance, and support a healthy workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Advise on HR best practices, policies, and procedures aligned with California employment laws.</li><li>
Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee file compliance.</li><li>
Assist with performance management and documentation.</li><li>
Guide and support leadership in employee relations matters.</li><li>
Conduct HR audits and recommend improvements to HR systems.</li><li>
Assist with HR process documentation to build scalable practices.</li><li>
Support DEI practices and initiatives, ensuring a welcoming workplace.</li><li>
Be available for periodic on-site visits for file audits or training, as needed.</li></ul>
Qualifications:<ul><li>
Proven HR experience, preferably with small businesses or early childhood education settings.</li><li>
Strong knowledge of California employment laws and compliance.</li><li>
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>
Ability to work independently while providing clear, actionable guidance.</li><li>
Located in the [Bay Area / San Francisco] for occasional on-site needs.</li><li>
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) is a plus.</li></ul>
