Job Summary and Qualifications</h5>
Assess, treats and cares for patients with pulmonary disorders. Responsible for the clinical administration of all therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care modalities offered by the department.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics:<ul><li>
Education: Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.</li><li>
Experience: One year previous Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.</li><li>
Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).</li></ul>
Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:
1. Required:
A. Must possess a current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, from the Texas Medical Board, to practice Respiratory Care in the State of Texas.
B. Must possess a current credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) OR must possess a current credential as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) BEFORE July 1, 2002 (Grandfathered CRT).
C. Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of employment.
2. Preferred:
A. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) must be obtained within 90 days of employment if required by department.
Essential Job Functions:<ul><li>
Operates and sets up devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration, aerosol generators, and disposable respiratory care products while following specific parameters for treatment.</li><li>
Provides emergency care, including artificial ventilation, external cardiac massage, and assists staff with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.</li><li>
Collects and analyzes arterial blood gases and is able to recognize normal, abnormal and critical values and able to provide appropriate corrective intervention.</li><li>
Follows physician orders for treatment and evaluates requirements for treatment, such as treatment type, mode and duration of therapy, universal precautions, and medication dosage.</li><li>
Monitors patient&rsquo;s response to therapy by evaluation of vital signs, arterial blood gases, auscultation of breath sounds, pulse oximetry and end-tidal CO2 measurement.</li><li>
Consults with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals for changes in patient&rsquo;s status and works as part of the team to manage the patient&rsquo;s plan of care.</li></ul>

Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Lab Assistant works under the supervision of the Lab Director and the lab supervisors. He/she processes specimens for the section, performs routine laboratory tests for diagnosis and treatment of disease, sets up instruments and performs basic equipment maintenance. Assists with ensuring all regulatory lab standards are met through following policies and procedures of the Hospital and accrediting regulatory agencies.
 What you will do in this role:<ul><li>
Processes specimens for the section; prepares blood smears and body fluid slides, centrifuges specimens, streaks microbiology plates, prepares specimens for transport to reference labs.</li><li>
Understands laboratory methods, demonstrates knowledge of pathological processes with correlation of disease states and test results. Independently performs specimen processing and testing to include moderate complexity testing.</li><li>
Sets up instruments and performs basic equipment maintenance.</li><li>
Performs basic quality control as instructed, collects quality assurance data. Performs clerical duties such as answering telephones, communicating verified test results by phone, typing procedures, performing data entry/retrieval as may be required, filing paperwork and slides, faxing documents, and assisting with inventory of supplies.</li><li>
May perform phlebotomy, point-of-care and waived testing as designated.</li><li>
Performs work in accordance with laboratory regulatory standards.</li></ul>
What qualifications you will need:<ul><li>
Education: High School graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited program.</li><li>
Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Graduate of Phlebotomy Course required; additional 6 months experience preferred. If phlebotomy program has not been completed, then must have one-year experience in a medical laboratory required or college course work in biological/chemical sciences. Six months computer keyboarding or equivalent preferred.</li></ul>

<h5 class="jobSectionHeader">The Certified Hyperbaric Technician accompanies patients undergoing hyperbaric oxygen treatments in the chamber delivering care appropriate to his/her level of training and in accordance with standard policies and procedures. Assists in wound care and other patient care as required. Responsible for the safe and effective operation of the compression chamber system and supporting components. The Senior Hyperbaric Technician is also responsible for performing maintenance activities of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and associated systems and equipment, under the direction of the Hyperbaric Safety Specialist and reports any and all safety issues and/or concerns. The Hyperbaric Technician is responsible for providing services for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency patients of the following ages: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Complete and maintain Hyperbaric Safety Director Course within 6 months</li></ul>
Essential Job Functions:
<ul><li>Evaluates equipment / supplies used in the chamber and ensures that they meet hospital Biomedical Department requirements as well as all safety requirements before they are permitted inside the chamber.</li><li>
Operates the compression chamber and supporting components and maintains operating, maintenance, safety logs and other required documentation, as specified in department policy.</li><li>
Observes patients and the hyperbaric systems during the course of hyperbaric oxygen treatments, reports unusual occurrences, and records appropriate entries in the medical record, as required and maintains a safe environment in the Center for patients and staff and ensures that adequate and safe decompression procedures are utilized for all personnel with a hyperbaric exposure.</li><li>
Ensures maintenance is completed and documented. Coordinates with Safety Director in completing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual maintenance logs.</li><li>
Prepares both chambers for fire suppression testing on a quarterly basis and coordinates fire suppression testing with Safety Specialist and Plant Management personnel, to include date and time of testing, follow-up action if needed, and submitting written report and results to Safety Specialist.</li><li>
Serves as one of the department&rsquo;s Technical trainers for full-time and PRN staff and provides training related to the appropriate aspects of hyperbaric physiology, decompression tables, equipment operations and safety, and treatment protocols. Validates in-chamber safety training of new employees before their initial entry into the hyperbaric chamber. Monitors qualifications of inside chamber attendants on a monthly basis and ensures compliance of staff members.</li></ul>
