In this rewarding role, you will provide door-to-door transportation for clients traveling to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other essential destinations. You&rsquo;ll operate company-provided vehicles designed for passenger comfort and safety, helping individuals maintain their independence while ensuring timely and secure transport. If you&rsquo;re compassionate, dependable, and enjoy working with people, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in your community.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Safely operate company-provided NEMT vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.</li><li>Provide courteous, professional assistance to passengers entering and exiting the vehicle, including individuals with mobility challenges or assistive devices.</li><li>Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate records and reporting any safety or maintenance concerns.</li><li>Keep vehicles clean, sanitized, and organized at all times to ensure passenger comfort and safety.</li><li>Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, healthcare facilities, and team members to coordinate timely pickups and drop-offs.</li><li>Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage reports, and required documentation using company systems or mobile applications.</li><li>Demonstrate excellent customer service and professionalism, ensuring a positive experience for all passengers.</li><li>Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA standards when handling client information.</li><li>Follow company emergency and safety procedures at all times.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Valid Virginia Driver&rsquo;s License with a clean driving record (minimum of 3 years preferred).</li><li>At least 21 years of age.</li><li>Previous experience in NEMT, paratransit, delivery, school bus, or shuttle driving is highly desirable.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely assist passengers with mobility aids (walkers, wheelchairs, etc.).</li><li>Knowledge of Richmond and Central Virginia roadways.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Must pass background check, driving record review, and drug screening (per DMAS/Broker standards such as Modivcare).</li><li>Professional, punctual, and customer-focused demeanor.</li></ul>Why Drive for Metro Moves<ul><li>Company-provided vehicles&mdash;no personal vehicle wear or maintenance costs.</li><li>Flexible scheduling options.</li><li>Supportive and responsive dispatch team.</li><li>Competitive contractor pay with growth opportunities.</li><li>Meaningful work that directly supports community health and access to care.</li></ul>Job Type: Part-timePeople with a criminal record are encouraged to applyApplication Question(s):<ul><li>Are you able to pass a drug screening?</li><li>Are you able to pass a background check?</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Patient transportation (NEMT): 1 year (Preferred)</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>Driver's License (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
