HaLev Early Childhood at the J is delighted to welcome a passionate Assistant Toddler Teacher to our team at the Capp Center in St. Paul. Assistant Teachers bring warmth, patience, flexibility, and a gentle spirit to their work, along with experience supporting children ages 16-33 months. In this role, they help create a nurturing and engaging environment where young children can grow and thrive. 


Assistant Teachers have the meaningful opportunity to encourage independence, support the development of physical strength and confidence through open-ended, joyful play, and nurture each child&rsquo;s sense of self and safety. As part of a strong community of caring educators, they play an essential role in fostering connection, belonging, and a love of learning.

Provide high-quality care to our children and families in a manner which reflects the mission and values of the Minnesota JCC.</li><li>
Challenge each child to reach their potential, and guide their activities academically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.</li><li>
Meet the daily needs of the children through caregiving activities such as toileting, meals, and napping.</li><li>
Assist in the room maintenance to keep the classroom and center a safe, clean, and loving environment.</li><li>
Rotate classroom materials regularly based on the observed interests of the children, HaLev Early Childhood at the J monthly Jewish themes, and children developmental stages.</li><li>
Foster relationships with families through daily communication regarding activity, growth, and development.</li><li>
Complete evaluations and conduct fall and spring parent-teacher conferences.</li><li>
Work with teachers and aides in the classroom to form a positive, supportive environment.</li></ul>

</div>Minimum Qualifications
<ul><li>
Two (2) years postsecondary education from college or university and 1040 hours of experience</li><li>
Have an understanding of The Creative Curriculum and knowledge of how to implement this curriculum into the classroom</li><li>
Knowledge of Jewish culture and traditions, or willingness to learn</li><li>
Commitment to equity, diversity, environmental stewardship, and social justice</li></ul>

Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>
Proven attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills</li><li>
Positive attitude and dedication to providing exceptional customer service</li><li>

Experience completing evaluations and conducting parent-teacher conferences</li><li>

Abuse Risk Management

Attend required abuse risk management training</li><li>
Adhere to procedures related to managing high risk activities and supervising participants</li><li>
