CLASS TITLE: SCHOOL BUS DRIVER Work Length: Split Shift - 193 days - 5 hoursDEFINITION: Under general supervision, operates a school vehicle in transporting children to and from school and on special trips; and performs related work as required.EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:&middot; Develops the most efficient route for transportation of assigned students&middot; Drives bus along route, stops and designated points to pick up or discharge students&middot; Maintains order and enforces rules&middot; Reports and cities for disciplinary action in cases of extreme or repeated unruliness&middot; Reports incidents&middot; Files accident reports when necessary&middot; Makes routine safety checks on vehicle&middot; Reports problems or equipment malfunctioning&middot; Maintains records of all trips&middot; Keeps bus cleanDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:Training and Experience: NoneKnowledge of:&middot; Motor vehicle regulations and special codes and regulations related to school buses&middot; Safe driving practicesSkills in:&middot; Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with othersAbility to:&middot; Maintain order under difficult circumstances&middot; Understand and follow verbal and written instructions&middot; Keep records&middot; Maintain good public relationsLicenses and Certificates:&middot; Possession of a valid California Class B driver&rsquo;s license&middot; Class A Bus Driver&rsquo;s Certificate issued by the California HighwayJob Type: Part-timePay: $27.71 - $33.69 per hourExpected hours: No less than 25 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Paid training</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Union benefits</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
