With a focus on financial literacy and investment education, we're transforming how Americans approach financial independence.Position OverviewWe seek a results-oriented, analytically minded Marketing Manager to execute our marketing strategy and oversee day-to-day marketing operations. The ideal candidate will use data-driven marketing techniques to support member acquisition, retention, and engagement across our educational platforms and investment communities. This role will manage our team of on-staff and contract marketing professionals and collaborate cross-functionally with the education, technology, and member services departments. Reporting to the CEO, you'll be responsible for implementing marketing initiatives and ensuring consistent execution of our marketing programs.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Implement member lifecycle marketing programs, with a focus on improving conversion at key drop-off points</li><li>Create and manage personalized email campaigns with dynamic content and behavior-based triggers</li><li>Monitor member retention metrics and implement tactics to reduce churn</li><li>Implement behavioral segmentation initiatives and track lifetime value metrics for different member segments</li><li>Create and manage content marketing initiatives, including blog posts, educational resources, and thought leadership pieces that support member acquisition and engagement</li><li>Develop and execute social media strategy across key platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube) to grow audience and drive member engagement</li><li>Execute SEO strategies and emerging GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) tactics to improve visibility in traditional search engines and AI-powered platforms</li><li>Optimize website content for conversational and voice search queries</li><li>Monitor and manage our online presence across search platforms and protect brand positioning</li><li>Provide regular reporting on marketing performance, membership trends, and revenue metrics to support budgetary planning</li><li>Execute pricing strategies and conduct A/B testing to optimize member acquisition and revenue</li><li>Manage marketing budget and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation</li><li>Oversee and coordinate work of contract marketing professionals (designers, copywriters, specialists)</li><li>Evaluate and manage marketing technology stack, recommending updates as needed</li><li>Collaborate with leadership to align marketing execution with organizational goals</li><li>Develop and execute social media strategy across key platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube) to grow audience and drive member engagement</li><li>Create and manage content marketing initiatives, including blog posts, educational resources, and thought leadership pieces that support member acquisition and engagement</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field</li><li>5+ years of marketing experience, with at least 2 years in a management or senior individual contributor role</li><li>Experience in SaaS subscription-based business models</li><li>Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to use data to drive marketing decisions</li><li>Experience with A/B testing and conversion optimization</li><li>Proven success with customer segmentation and email marketing personalization</li><li>Experience managing social media platforms and campaigns, with an understanding of platform-specific best practices and analytics</li><li>Background in content marketing strategy and execution, including editorial planning and content performance measurement</li><li>Familiarity with customer retention strategies and lifecycle marketing</li><li>Working knowledge of SEO best practices and emerging GEO strategies</li><li>Experience managing contractors or external marketing resources</li><li>Proficiency with marketing automation platforms and CRM systems</li><li>Strong project management and organizational skills</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration abilities</li><li>Passion for financial education and empowerment; investment industry or personal investing experience valued but not required</li><li>Non-profit experience preferred but not required</li></ul>What Success Looks Like (within the first 12 months)Successfully manage your team to:<ul><li>Deliver consistent, high-quality marketing execution</li><li>Improve Average Lifetime Value through lead generation, lead conversion, and retention initiatives</li><li>Increase engagement metrics</li><li>Achieve measurable improvement in search visibility and organic traffic</li></ul>Compensation &amp; Benefits<ul><li>Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000, commensurate with experience</li><li>Performance-based bonus opportunities</li><li>Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>403(b) retirement plan with employer match</li><li>Flexible work arrangements with some in-office requirements at the Troy, MI office</li><li>Professional development allowance</li><li>Paid time off and holidays</li><li>Mission-driven work environment with national impact</li></ul>BetterInvesting is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our workplace and the investment community.
