Physician Assistant (PA) &ndash; Primary Care (4-5 Days/Week)New Smyrna Wellness Center &ndash; New Smyrna Beach, FL Part-Time | 4-5 Days/Week | Busy Primary Care OfficeJob DescriptionNew Smyrna Wellness Center is seeking a skilled, motivated, and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our busy and growing primary care practice. This position is ideal for a provider who enjoys building patient relationships, working in a fast-paced environment, and practicing evidence-based medicine with a strong team support system.We are looking for a PA who is confident, professional, and patient-focused, with strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills.Schedule<ul><li>4-5 days per week</li><li>Hours to be discussed during interview (flexibility available depending on office needs)</li></ul>Responsibilities &amp; Job DutiesThe Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages under supervising physician oversight, within the scope of practice allowed by Florida law.Clinical Responsibilities<ul><li>Perform patient evaluations including detailed histories and physical exams</li><li>Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions</li><li>Provide preventative care, health maintenance, and wellness visits</li><li>Develop treatment plans and monitor patient progress</li><li>Provide follow-up care and patient education</li></ul>Common Conditions Managed<ul><li>Hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia</li><li>COPD, asthma, respiratory infections</li><li>Thyroid disorders</li><li>Anxiety/depression management</li><li>GERD and gastrointestinal issues</li><li>Musculoskeletal pain/injuries</li><li>Urinary tract infections and common acute illnesses</li></ul>Preventative &amp; Wellness Care<ul><li>Annual physicals and wellness exams</li><li>Health screenings and risk assessments</li><li>Immunization recommendations and preventative counseling</li><li>Lifestyle counseling (nutrition, weight management, smoking cessation, etc.)</li></ul>Diagnostic &amp; Procedural Duties<ul><li>Order and interpret lab tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies</li><li>Perform basic in-office procedures within PA scope, such as:</li><li>Minor wound care</li><li>Injections (IM, subcutaneous, joint injections if applicable)</li><li>EKG interpretation</li><li>Medication management and refills</li><li>Review diagnostic results and communicate findings to patients</li></ul>Medication &amp; Treatment Management<ul><li>Prescribe medications as appropriate and in compliance with state regulations</li><li>Adjust medications for chronic disease management</li><li>Provide medication education and monitor for adverse effects</li><li>Coordinate controlled substance prescribing appropriately and responsibly</li></ul>Documentation &amp; Compliance<ul><li>Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the EMR</li><li>Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all healthcare regulations</li><li>Assist with care coordination, referrals, and specialist communication</li><li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed</li></ul>Collaboration<ul><li>Work closely with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff</li><li>Coordinate care plans and ensure continuity of patient care</li><li>Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and staff</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Florida (required)</li><li>NCCPA certification (required)</li><li>Active DEA license or ability to obtain (preferred)</li><li>BLS certification (required)</li><li>Primary care experience preferred (family medicine, internal medicine, urgent care experience is a plus)</li><li>Strong clinical decision-making skills</li><li>Excellent communication and patient education skills</li><li>Ability to work efficiently in a busy clinical setting</li></ul>Preferred Skills<ul><li>Experience managing chronic conditions independently</li><li>Comfortable seeing a high volume of patients while maintaining quality care</li><li>Strong EMR documentation skills</li><li>Friendly, professional bedside manner</li><li>Team-oriented and dependable</li></ul>Compensation &amp; Benefits<ul><li>Competitive pay based on experience</li><li>Supportive, established team environment</li><li>Consistent schedule (4 days/week)</li><li>Opportunity to grow with a respected primary care office</li></ul>(Benefits can be discussed during the interview process.)Work Location<ul><li>In-person</li></ul>New Smyrna Beach, FLHow to ApplyInterested candidates should submit their resume and include:<ul><li>Current license information</li><li>Availability</li><li>Brief summary of primary care experience</li></ul>We look forward to meeting a provider who is passionate about patient care and ready to join a thriving practice.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $1.00 - $2.00 per yearWork Location: In person
