Job Summary:
Provides primary and episodic care to patients &ndash; independently and in collaboration with other medical professionals &ndash; following standards and protocols set by the Chief Medical Officer. Functions as a leading member of the clinical team and maintains patient flow.? Maximizes the delivery of quality care and customer service to patients.? Emphasizes health promotion and/or disease prevention through patient education and coordination of care. Follows regulations and guidelines for writing prescriptions.
General Accountabilities:<ul><li>
Assure efficient and smooth patient visit experience.</li><li>
Follow company patient-care protocols.</li><li>
Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent and non-urgent presentation.</li><li>
Selects, orders, and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings.</li><li>
Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnoses included.</li><li>
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care.</li><li>
Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including but not limited to laboratory, radiology, EKG, etc....</li><li>
Performs duties in accordance with the customary rules of ethics and conduct of the Texas Medical Board</li><li>
Prescribes medication doses appropriate for each patient and explains correct uses.</li><li>
Maintains quality, safety, and infection control standards.</li><li>
Exercises tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex and confidential patient issues and situations.</li><li>
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.</li><li>
Learns computer software programs; enters and maintains accurate data and statistical information in order to consistently prepare clear and concise reports.</li><li>
Supervises nurse practitioners and physician assistants.</li></ul>
Requirements:

Job Qualifications:<ul><li>
Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO)</li><li>
Graduate of an accredited medical school</li><li>
Valid Texas Medical License</li><li>
Outstanding knowledge of medications, side effects and contraindications</li><li>
Outstanding patient management skills</li><li>
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>
Clinical experience in an emergency, urgent care or ambulatory clinic setting preferred</li><li>
BLS certified</li><li>
Unrestricted DEA license</li><li>
Board Certified</li><li>
DOT certified within 2 months of hire</li></ul>
Environmental and physical requirements:<ul><li>
Candidate must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, have cognitive skills for math, reading, filing and sterile technique skills.</li><li>
Communication skills to deal well with employees, patients and families</li><li>
Vision for near, mid-range, far and accommodation. Hearing for low, medium, and high pitch.</li><li>
Job requires physical ability for long-term standing, occasional sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching with reaching above head and below waist.</li><li>
Job risks include exposure to blood and body fluids (high), contact with chemicals, lifting of 30 - 40 pounds, and exposure to infectious disease.</li></ul></div>
