Description:
Job Summary:
Provides primary and episodic care to patients – independently and in collaboration with other medical professionals – following standards and protocols set by the Chief Medical Officer. Functions as a leading member of the clinical team and maintains patient flow.? Maximizes the delivery of quality care and customer service to patients.? Emphasizes health promotion and/or disease prevention through patient education and coordination of care. Follows regulations and guidelines for writing prescriptions.
General Accountabilities:

Assure efficient and smooth patient visit experience.

Follow company patient-care protocols.

Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent and non-urgent presentation.

Selects, orders, and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings.

Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnoses included.

Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care.

Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including but not limited to laboratory, radiology, EKG, etc....

Performs duties in accordance with the customary rules of ethics and conduct of the Texas Medical Board

Prescribes medication doses appropriate for each patient and explains correct uses.

Maintains quality, safety, and infection control standards.

Exercises tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex and confidential patient issues and situations.

Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Learns computer software programs; enters and maintains accurate data and statistical information in order to consistently prepare clear and concise reports.

Supervises nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
Requirements:
Job Qualifications:

Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO)
-
Graduate of an accredited medical school
-
Valid Texas Medical License
-
Outstanding knowledge of medications, side effects and contraindications

Outstanding patient management skills
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Clinical experience in an emergency, urgent care or ambulatory clinic setting preferred

BLS certified
-
Unrestricted DEA license
-
Board Certified
-
DOT certified within 2 months of hire
Environmental and physical requirements:

Candidate must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, have cognitive skills for math, reading, filing and sterile technique skills.

Communication skills to deal well with employees, patients and families

Vision for near, mid-range, far and accommodation. Hearing for low, medium, and high pitch.

Job requires physical ability for long-term standing, occasional sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching with reaching above head and below waist.

Job risks include exposure to blood and body fluids (high), contact with chemicals, lifting of 30 - 40 pounds, and exposure to infectious disease.
