Summary</h2><p>
Reporting to the Security Supervisor, the Security Guard - FT is responsible for the safety and security of the Nexus Family Recovery Center facility, clients, staff, and visitors. Acting as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions, the Security Guard detects, reports, and deescalates suspicious, unsafe, or criminal acts which may be a threat to the property or people on the Nexus campus.</p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>
Completes tours of campus and log entries at stations as assigned, while monitoring surroundings for unsafe or criminal activity.</li><li>
Appropriately reports and de-escalates situations as needed.</li><li>
Completes shift reports and incident reports.</li><li>
Monitors CCTV video feed.</li><li>
Stations at the administrative reception area during Receptionist breaks and as needed, providing directions and responses to clients and visitors.
</li><li>Carries the campus security phone and responds to calls as needed.</li><li>
Other duties within the organization as assigned.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Competencies</h2><ul><li>
Able to detect and appropriately report and deescalate unsafe or criminal activities.</li><li>
Able to learn and operate within Nexus standards of client care.</li><li>
Able to complete multiple tours of the 11-acre campus each shift, maintaining alertness to surroundings and situational awareness.</li><li>
Able to use a mobile application to log key points in campus rounds.</li><li>
Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>
Able to use Microsoft Office business tools including Outlook and SharePoint.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Education &amp; Experience</h2><ul><li>
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">

Ability to apply common sense and understanding to conduct instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
