Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our dynamic educational team. In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for children across early childhood and special education settings. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children&rsquo;s lives while gaining valuable experience in education.Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans aligned with developmental milestones and educational standards, including literacy, math, and social skills.</li><li>Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and facilitating a respectful, safe environment for all students.</li><li>Work directly with children, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, or other special needs, providing tailored support based on individual IEPs (Individualized Education Programs).</li><li>Use American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication techniques to enhance understanding and interaction with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.</li><li>Help prepare instructional materials, set up learning activities, and organize classroom spaces to promote active engagement.</li><li>Assist with daily childcare routines such as diapering, feeding, and supervising toddlers or preschoolers in accordance with best practices like Montessori or preschool methodologies.</li><li>Collaborate with teachers to develop lesson plans that incorporate early childhood education principles and adapt strategies for diverse learners.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Prior experience working with children in classroom or childcare settings is highly preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of childhood development theories and early childhood education practices.</li><li>Familiarity with special education techniques, including behavior management strategies and curriculum development for students with disabilities.</li><li>Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is encouraged.</li><li>Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and students.</li><li>Ability to manage classroom behavior positively while maintaining a calm and supportive demeanor.</li><li>Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is advantageous.</li><li>Previous experience in private schools or Montessori environments is desirable but not mandatory.
