The ideal candidate is a polished, self-motivated, and detail-oriented expert in client service and legal support.Location: Central Business District of Washington, D.CSchedule: StandardCompensation: $75-108kLegal Secretary (Client Service Specialist) Requirements/Skills:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).</li><li>Minimum 6 years of legal secretarial or comparable legal experience (required).</li><li>Litigation experience (required).</li><li>Exceptional organizational skills: ability to organize, prioritize, coordinate, delegate, and work effectively on a team.</li><li>Expert-level mastery of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.</li><li>Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) for document editing, scheduling, data management, and presentations.</li><li>Advanced proficiency with document editing/comparison tools and web-based conference/sharing applications.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of legal administration: timekeeping, expense processing, and billing.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of relevant jurisdictional, court, and agency processes.</li><li>Advanced proficiency in document management systems (DMS).</li><li>Proven ability to coordinate effectively across firm-wide departments, ensuring clear communication, conflict resolution, and timely delivery of results.</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills required to meet deadlines and provide results while maintaining compliance with Firm policy.</li></ul>Legal Secretary (Client Service Specialist) Responsibilities:<ul><li>Maintain a consistent physical presence required to facilitate an interactive and collaborative environment ensuring that assignments, cross-training, and peer level support are optimized to provide seamless support.</li><li>Coordinate legal practice tasks and projects.</li><li>Coordinate administrative functions and facilitate completion of tasks including such as finance/billing-related tasks, time and expense entry, opening of new matters, client presentations, meetings, and other administrative projects as assigned.</li><li>Coordinate with and delegate to firm resources, practice support or similar departments in International offices in the handling of tasks and projects.</li><li>Prepare complex legal documents and correspondence; File with appropriate court or agency; Apply subject matter expertise in coordination of legal practice tasks and projects; Maintain client materials in document management system.</li><li>Coordinate support through the Finance Department including: edit and review process of client bills; correct time entry and promotion of time entry best practices.</li><li>Review and support of the client billing process to include: proofreading, application of task codes and matter management skills, coinciding math aptitude and skills to support rates, rate changes, write-offs, preparation of expense reporting and audits as required, maintenance and consistency with billing protocols and other accounting functions.</li><li>Manage the legal and administrative practices of attorneys and facilitate service levels that meet client requirements.</li><li>Work overtime as required; and demonstrate adaptability, flexibility, initiative and innovation in handling a wide variety of additional projects as required.</li></ul>Company Benefits:Comprehensive Health Plan, Retirement Plan, Family Planning and Parent Support, Holistic Well-Being Support, Professional Development, Backup Child and Elder Care, PTO Plan, Employee DiscountsJob Type: Full-timePay: $76,000.00 - $108,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Application Question(s):<ul><li>Do you have Top Am Firm experience? </li><li>What are your salary requirements?</li></ul>Work Location: In person
