</b></p><p><b>This position requires hands-on caregiving experience</b>, as the clients will need direct personal care assistance, including physical support with daily activities. The Caregiver will also provide companionship and socialization with guidance to assure a protected environment. The Caregiver will follow the care plan provided and promote quality, continuity and safety of our clients.</p>

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
</b></p><p>Responsibilities of the Caregiver/Companion includes, but are not limited to the following:
</p><div><ul><li>Hands-on caregiving. This role involves direct, physical care and assistance with daily activities.</li></ul>

<p>Provides companionship by reading, conversation, and listening.</p>
</li></ul>
<ul><li><p>Participates in appropriate recreational activities and hobbies for social and sensory stimulation.
</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Assists client in completing necessary phone calls, letter writing, etc.
</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Maintains a safe home environment for the client.
</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Accompanies client on walks, community trips, doctor&rsquo;s office, bank, etc.
</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Informs Agency Manager/Care Designer of any changes in assignment.
</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Provides emotional support and promotes a sense of well-being.
</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>May prepare meals.
</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>May perform light housework and laundering of clothing to maintain a clean, neat environment.
</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Assists in the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment.
</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Grocery shopping with or without a client.
</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Uses equipment and supplies safely and properly.
</p></li></ul></div><p><b>Education And/or Experience
 </b></p><ul><li><div><p>High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent preferred.
 </p></div></li><li><div><p>Training in the topics related to human development and interpersonal relationships, nutrition,
</p><p>shopping, food storage, use of equipment and supplies, planning and organizing of household tasks
</p><p>and principals of cleanliness and safety.
 </p></div></li><li><div><p>Clean driving record
</p><p><b>Skills and Abilities
 </b></p></div></li></ul><ul><li><div><p>Ability to communicate effectively with patient/client, family members, clinical management, and staff.
 </p></div></li><li><div><p>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,
