Job Summary The Insurance Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of insurance processes within a dental office. This position is responsible for managing insurance verification, processing dental records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental terminology and coding.Responsibilities<ul><li>Understanding knowledge of dental insurance plans</li><li>Verify and/or update patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to services rendered.</li><li>Process and code dental claims using appropriate coding systems (ADA).</li><li>Communicate effectively with patients regarding their insurance inquiries and claims status.</li><li>Process and submit insurance claims daily</li><li>Stay updated on changes in insurance policies, procedures, and regulations.</li><li>Assist in the resolution of any discrepancies or issues related to insurance claims.</li><li>Monitor and follow up on outstanding insurance claims.</li><li>Provide support to the dental office team in administrative tasks as needed; such as performing general office duties, answering telephones, scheduling, taking payments, photocopying, filing, and answering emails.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Experience in a dental office setting preferred but not required</li><li>Experience in an Insurance Coordinator or similar role; Familiarity with insurance verification processes and managed care principles.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.</li><li>Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.</li><li>Critical thinking</li><li>Adaptability</li><li>Positive proactive attitude</li><li>Solid work ethic</li><li>Excellent telephone etiquette</li><li>Excellent customer service skills</li><li>Working knowledge of general administrative practices</li></ul>Qualified candidates may also bring a resume in person to our office located at 135 Warren Ave Pocatello, ID 83201 or email admin@oakmountaindental.comJob Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Insurance verification: 1 year (Preferred)</li><li>dental billing: 1 year (Preferred)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Pocatello, ID 83201 (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Pocatello, ID 83201: Relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
