We seek an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join the Bluebird Ocean Point Inn's Ocean Point Kitchen team. In this role, you will support the Executive Chef in all culinary operations, utilizing your talent and expertise to create delicious, memorable dishes that reflect the inn's commitment to quality. You will have a passion for creating high-end, culinary-forward cuisine and be motivated to take the initiative to come up with creative ideas for menu items and plating presentations. <div><b>Responsibilities</b></div>
<div><div><ul><li>Schedule and coordinate staff shifts while ensuring adequate coverage.</li>
<li>Monitor food preparation processes to ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.</li>
<li>Assist in creating menus, estimating food needs, and ordering ingredients per specifications.</li>
<li>Monitor the quality of all food items prepared in the kitchen.</li>
<li>Train kitchen staff on techniques and processes.</li>

<div><div><ul><li>5+ years of experience in a professional food service setting.</li>
<li>Demonstrated knowledge of food safety and regulation standards.</li>
<li>Ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision.</li>

<li>US work authorization.</li>

<li>Monitor and maintain product, supplies, and labor costs</li>
<li>Collaborate with our culinary team to design and implement new menus and appropriate pricing structures</li>
</ul></div><div><b>Qualifications</b></div>
<div><div><ul><li>Strong food, wine, and cocktail knowledge</li>
<li>Strong leadership and management skills, working with a variety of employees, fostering a team-oriented environment</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal</li>
<li>Ability to form innovative ideas, create a plan of action, and implement it</li>
<li>Experience in purchasing specifications, pricing, and quantity yields</li>
</ul></div><ul><li>National food and health safety regulations knowledge</li>
<li>Food handling license</li>
<li>Deep knowledge of culinary trends in the industry and a strong understanding of portion and plating standards</li>
<li>Displays strong leadership qualities and an emphasis on customer satisfaction</li>
<li>At least 3 years in a supervisory role in the food and beverage department</li>
