The work entails assisting in carrying out any specific phases of the program; performing specific assignments of ordinary difficulty and responsibility; advising public officials or individuals on problems requiring professional public health engineering knowledge and judgment, including measures for improvements and compliance with legal requirements; assisting in the promotion of public health through application of environmental health practices; assisting in the enforcement of the provisions of all local public health matters; investigating conditions and problems as directed; and assisting in the preparation of complicated technical reports. Supervision is received from a higher level supervising Public Health Engineer. Certain assignments made to employees in this class will require reasonable access to transportation to meet field work requirements made in the ordinary course of business in a timely and efficient manner.
