We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our Child Nutrition Food Program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to providing high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing delicious healthy nutritional meals dishes while adhering to food safety and handling standards. This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in a collaborative setting and are eager to contribute to our dietary department.Duties<ul><li>Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and standards Provided by USDA. Under our food program regulations</li><li>Ensure all food safety regulations and guidelines are followed, including proper food handling and storage.</li><li>Assist in menu planning and development</li><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.</li><li>Collaborate with our food service manager and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.</li><li>Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages as needed.</li><li>Utilize various kitchen tools, including knives, safely and efficiently.</li><li>Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within the food service industry.</li><li>Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.</li><li>Familiarity with fine dining standards is preferred but not required.</li><li>Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques.</li><li>Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.</li><li>A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills within the kitchen.</li></ul>Pay Range12.00-14.00Must be able to pass drug testing and background checkJob Type: Full-timePay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Work Location: In person
