We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our Child Nutrition Food Program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to providing high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing delicious healthy nutritional meals dishes while adhering to food safety and handling standards. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and standards Provided by USDA. Under our food program regulations
- Ensure all food safety regulations and guidelines are followed, including proper food handling and storage.
- Assist in menu planning and development
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Collaborate with our food service manager and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages as needed.
- Utilize various kitchen tools, including knives, safely and efficiently.
- Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within the food service industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Familiarity with fine dining standards is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills within the kitchen.
Pay Range
12.00-14.00
Must be able to pass drug testing and background check
