The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, a solid understanding of GAAP, and experience with various accounting software. This role involves managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial statements and supporting the organization&rsquo;s financial health. Candidates with expertise in corporate, governmental, or non-profit accounting are encouraged to apply.Responsibilities<ul><li>Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements</li><li>Perform account reconciliations including bank, general ledger, and subsidiary accounts</li><li>Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently using software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero</li><li>Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and accruals</li><li>Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making</li><li>Ensure compliance with SOX controls and other internal policies</li><li>Support regulatory reporting requirements and audit preparations</li><li>Maintain accurate records of financial transactions using double-entry bookkeeping principles</li><li>Reconcile balance sheets and perform cash flow analysis to monitor financial health</li><li>Mentor junior staff or interns, fostering a collaborative team environment</li><li>Assist all departments and inputting data as required</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Proven experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or governmental accounting roles</li><li>Familiarity with accounting standards such as GAAP and securities law compliance</li><li>Hands-on experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Xero, or similar platforms</li><li>Strong understanding of technical accounting concepts such as journal entries, debits &amp; credits, accrual accounting, and account reconciliation</li><li>Knowledge of financial report writing and interpretation for management review</li><li>Experience with tax preparation or tax-related software is a plus</li><li>Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data accurately and efficiently using Microsoft Excel or other analytical tools</li><li>Prior mentoring or leadership experience is desirable for supporting team development</li></ul>This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization where your expertise in financial management will be valued.
