Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support in a medical office setting, ensuring smooth operations while delivering outstanding patient service. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in various electronic health record (EHR) systems.Responsibilities<ul><li>Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing a welcoming atmosphere at the front desk.</li><li>Manage patient scheduling, including appointments, follow-ups, and cancellations.</li><li>Perform insurance verification and collect payments as necessary.</li><li>Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.</li><li>Handle phone inquiries using multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.</li><li>Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT and ICD coding (ICD-9 and ICD-10).</li><li>Review documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to patient visits.</li><li>Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient care plans are executed.</li><li>Maintain the organization of medical records and filing systems.</li><li>Support administrative functions such as typing reports, managing correspondence, and utilizing Microsoft Office applications effectively.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative role is preferred.</li><li>Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms is highly desirable.</li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, insurance verification processes, and medical coding practices (CPT/ICD).</li><li>Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and 10-key typing ability.</li><li>Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff alike.</li><li>Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication efforts.</li><li>Experience in clinic or hospital settings is a plus; familiarity with dental terminology or office management is also beneficial.
