You will report directly to management and safeguard a 116-year-old legacy.Daily Operations &amp; Job Costing:<ul><li>Oversee daily accounting operations including AP, AR, general ledger, and payroll/benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, Pension).</li><li>Track and allocate costs (labor, material, equipment, subcontractors) to specific jobs and projects.</li><li>Prepare and analyze the Current-Work-in-Progress (CWIP) schedule monthly to ensure accurate over/under billing and margin recognition.</li></ul>Construction-Specific Financial Controls:<ul><li>Manage AIA (American Institute of Architects) progress billings, payment applications, and retainage receivable.</li><li>Oversee subcontractor/vendor compliance, including collecting lien waivers and insurance certificates before releasing payments.</li><li>Handle certified payroll reporting and ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws (Missouri/Illinois) for public projects.</li></ul>Cash Flow, Risk &amp; Compliance:<ul><li>Monitor and control corporate cash flow, including project-level forecasting.</li><li>Manage banking relationships, lines of credit, and equipment financing.</li><li>Work directly with surety underwriters to support and maintain the company's bonding capacity.</li><li>Complete audits, financial compliance activities, and manage any outsourced financial tasks.</li></ul>Systems &amp; Strategy:<ul><li>Work with management to select and maintain financial software.</li><li>Develop and enforce the company's financial policies and procedures.</li><li>Create and complete financial reporting (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual).</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.</li><li>Extensive experience in construction accounting involving complex project-based financial management.</li><li>Experience with AIA billing, lien waivers, and retainage tracking.</li><li>Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance standards, governmental accounting practices, and non-profit accounting principles.</li><li>Proficiency with accounting software such as Timberline/Sage 300 Construction Software; experience with financial management systems is essential.</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel required).</li><li>Demonstrated expertise in cash management, account reconciliation, financial report writing, budgeting, forecasting and technical accounting issues.</li><li>Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately and communicate findings clearly.</li><li>Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements related to construction projects or public sector funding sources is highly desirable.</li><li>Proven ability to lead teams effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>Health Insurance (family coverage)</li><li>Dental Insurance</li><li>Vision Insurance</li><li>Paid Time Off / Paid Sick Time</li><li>Pension Plan (a rare and valuable benefit)</li></ul>Pay Range:$80,000.00 - $130,000.00 commensurate with experienceWhy Join Us?
