Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Probate Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will assist attorneys in managing probate matters, ensuring smooth and efficient administration of estates, trusts, and related legal processes. Your expertise will help clients navigate complex legal procedures with confidence, providing clarity and support throughout the probate journey. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your paralegal experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment committed to excellence and client service.Duties<ul><li>Drafting and file probate petitions, notices, estate inventories, accountings, and related legal documents with courts and administrative agencies.</li><li>Filing documents with the court and monitoring case dockets for deadlines and required actions.</li><li>Review and organize legal documents using document management systems such as MyCase and LexisNexis for accuracy and completeness.</li><li>Communicating with personal representatives, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and other parties to obtain necessary information and provide case updates.</li><li>Collecting, organizing, and maintaining estate records, including asset documentation, creditor claims, expenses, and receipts.</li><li>Manage case files efficiently from inception through resolution, ensuring deadlines are met and documentation is properly maintained.</li><li>Coordinate tasks with attorneys to ensure estates progress efficiently and in compliance with Florida probate rules.</li><li>Support attorneys in litigation matters related to estate disputes or contested probate cases by preparing pleadings and conducting legal research on relevant areas such as family law or securities law.</li><li>Manage calendars, deadlines and follow-up tasks for each probate matter.</li><li>Assisting with administration/reception duties.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Extensive knowledge of probate procedures along with familiarity in estate planning, trust administration, UCC law.</li><li>Proficiency in legal case management software MyCase and document storage like DropBox.</li><li>Strong project management skills to prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple cases simultaneously.</li><li>Excellent research abilities utilizing Westlaw and LexisNexis to gather pertinent legal information swiftly.</li><li>Exceptional writing skills for drafting clear legal documents such as pleadings, reports, and correspondence.</li><li>Detail-oriented with outstanding proofreading and transcription skills to ensure accuracy in all filings.</li><li>Superior organizational skills combined with administrative experience supporting law office operations.</li><li>Effective interviewing techniques to elicit comprehensive information from clients and while demonstrating professional etiquette. This role is ideal for a proactive professional eager to contribute to busy law office while honing their expertise across diverse areas of law including family law, landlord-tenant law, litigation support, criminal law, real estate law, estate planning, contracts review, and more.
