Ensures care meets quality standards established by the hospital, department and regulatory agencies and maintains all skills and knowledge sufficient to provide safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate care to all ages of patients from neonate to adolescent. This position also participates in executing quality improvement initiatives.

<div><div><ul><li>Safely performs various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established standards, procedural guidelines, and policies.<br>
<div>Applies knowledge and understanding of the proper and safe use of all Respiratory Care interventions and related equipment. Successfully completes initial competency validations and ongoing re-validations. Troubleshoots interventions and equipment as it applies to various patient care situations.</div>
</li><li>Interacts with and explains care modalities to patients, families, and the health care team in an understandable manner based on individual diversity and learning styles.<br>
<div>Introduces oneself to the family, patient, and health care team. Displays a positive customer relations attitude.</div>

Respiratory Care Pract II

<div><div><div><p><b>Posting Note:</b> This Medical Scribe position is for our Plastic Surgery division in our Cleft and Craniofacial department. This Medical Scribe will work a minimum of 3 days per week between our Main office location (20th St and Thomas Rd) and our Cleft and Craniofacial office (124 W Thomas Rd), during office hours which are Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm.</p>
<p>The primary role of the Medical Scribe is to relieve the practitioner of clerical and secretarial duties; thus allowing the practitioner to focus more directly on clinical care. The scribe is an unlicensed individual and exclusively non-clinical. They do not examine patients and do not engage in any type of patient care. A scribe&rsquo;s role is limited to documentation and efficiency management for the practitioner. Must be able to travel to our satellite offices (except Yuma).
</p></div></div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Position Duties</b></h3>
<div><div><ul><li>Assists the practitioner in navigating the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and may locate information for review as requested by the practitioner (i.e., previous notes, reports, test results, and laboratory results). Also, may research information requested by the practitioner.<br>
</li><div></div><li>Accompanies the practitioner upon patient interview and examination and they do not interject their own observations or impressions.<br>
</li><div></div><li>Documents the practitioner dictated patient history, including history of present illness; review of systems; past medical and surgical history; family and social histories; and medications and allergies.<br>
</li><div></div><li>Documents physical examination findings and procedures as performed by the practitioner.<br>
</li><div></div><li>Documents the results of laboratory and radiographic studies as dictated by the practitioner.<br>
</li><div></div><li>Documents the correct time of patient care related activities, including practitioner to practitioner communication, family communication and re-examination of the patient.<br>
</li><div></div><li>Ensures the practitioner reviews all documentation completed by the Scribe when the patient encounter has concluded. This includes making any necessary amendments and signing the chart. The practitioner is ultimately responsible for documentation of the patient&rsquo;s encounter.<br>
</li><div></div><li>Make &ldquo;chart rounds&rdquo; with the practitioner to review patient status, delays, and any other care-related issues.<br>
</li><div></div><li>Ensures authentication takes place before the Practitioner and scribe leave the patient care area and that all orders for patient care are communicated by the practitioner.<br>

Medical Scribe

<div><div><div><p>This position assumes administrative responsibility for Respiratory Care Services programs and staff. Assumes responsibility for financial oversight, positive customer relations, performance management, process improvement, planning and directing staff members. Collaborates with leaders on performance standards, systems, and processes to optimize care excellence in an efficient, effective manner while supporting the mission, vision and values of Phoenix Children&rsquo;s.
</p></div></div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Position Duties</b></h3>
<div><div><ul><li>I. Clinical Leadership<br>
<div>1. Maintains 24/7 accountability for patient care operations. Works with unit leadership and House Supervisors to support unit needs and access to leadership representation 24 hours, 7 days a week.<br>
2. Responsible for collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement the patient care philosophy, standards of practice, department goals, policies and procedures.<br>
3. Assesses necessary respiratory therapy personnel are available to meet fluctuating census, acuity and budgetary goals. Implements innovative and effective recruitment, retention and onboarding strategies in collaboration with Director, HR and other departments/disciplines to meet unit needs as well as to foster growth and staff satisfaction.<br>
4. Ensures continual delivery of high quality respiratory care.<br>
5. Assures compliance of DNV and CMS standards as well as other regulatory agencies<br>
6. Enforces adherence to state board of respiratory and to other governing agency regulations; measures health outcomes against standards; makes or recommends adjustments.<br>
7. Remains current and works towards best practice in leadership, management, clinical knowledge and Phoenix Children's policies and procedures. Incorporates expertise by serving as a resource related to clinical aspects of areas of responsibility.</div>
</li><li>II. Human Resource Management<br>
<div>1. Manages all aspects of personnel administration for unit(s) of responsibility including by not limited to recruitment, interviewing, selection of professional, technical or supervisory staff.<br>
2. Implement strategies to foster staff&rsquo;s high engagement, maintain low staff turnover, and support high level of staff satisfaction.<br>
3. Assists staff with goal setting; implements continual performance development.<br>
4. Evaluates staffing patterns/needs; match staff competency with patient acuity.<br>
5. Effectively manages grievances in collaboration with appropriate leadership and Human Resources, monitors staff for fitness for duty, performance improvement and initiates corrective action as appropriate.<br>
6. Identifies key performance indicators; establishes data collection methodology; evaluates performance data; responds to outcome measurement findings; complies with documentation requirements.<br>
7. Works collaboratively with Supervisors to identify staff performance issues/needs, provides feedback and support to address staff issues requiring immediate intervention, and identifies educational needs to ensure maintenance of established performance, competency, and quality standards.<br>
8. Monitors/reviews RISE safety reports and collaborates with Supervisors for trends; develops and implements strategies to address drifts in practice.<br>
9. Assesses customer and patient satisfaction; develop strategies to address satisfaction issues.<br>
10. Develops and supervises staff through provision of timely feedback and use of

appropriate Human Resource policies and tools to facilitate and ensure the ability of staff to achieve highest level of professional growth and desired performance standards.<br>
11. Collaborates with unit-based Education Specialist for orientation and ongoing professional development of all staff.<br>
12. Participates both proactively and retroactively in assessing and reviewing quality of care by utilizing modalities such as rounding, data collection through dashboards, etc. and participating in event reviews, as appropriate.</div>
</li><li>III. Financial Management<br>
<div>1. Provides timely review and feedback to management team for fiscal responsibilities of designated areas reflecting optimal utilization of all resources.<br>
2. Works in collaboration with other leaders and departments to develop, secure approval for, and monitor revenue, expenses and capital budget for areas of responsibility.<br>
3. Reviews financial data monthly and recommends/implements strategies to ensure compliance with approved budgets.<br>
4. Conducts ongoing evaluation of productivity.</div>

<div>1. Establishes and oversees unit-based goals in conjunction with division and organizational goals/priorities.<br>
