Job OverviewStart Your Career in Wildland FirefightingWe are currently hiring entry-level contract Wildland Firefighters who are hungry to learn, ready to work hard, and serious about starting a career in wildland fire. No prior firefighting experience is required &mdash; we are looking for the right attitude, work ethic, and willingness to follow direction.If you&rsquo;re motivated, physically capable, and want to be part of a demanding but rewarding profession, this is your opportunity to get your foot in the door.Duties &amp; ResponsibilitiesAs a Contract Wildland Firefighter, you will be expected to perform physically demanding and high-responsibility work in challenging outdoor environments. This position requires discipline, teamwork, and the ability to follow direction at all times.Primary Duties<ul><li>Participate in required In-Person training sessions and field exercises every Saturday and Sunday</li><li>Construct and improve fireline using hand tools and equipment</li><li>Assist in wildfire suppression, mop-up, and patrol operations</li><li>Operate and maintain hand tools, hoses, pumps, and other fire equipment</li><li>Follow crew leadership direction and adhere to the chain of command</li><li>Maintain situational awareness and comply with all safety standards</li><li>Perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods in rugged terrain</li><li>Work long hours in variable and extreme weather conditions</li><li>Maintain personal gear and ensure readiness for assignments</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>EMT experience or certification is highly desirable for emergency medical response capabilities (But not required)</li><li>Ability to operate commercial vehicles and mechanical equipment safely; valid CDL license is a plus but not required</li><li>A decent level of physical strength for heavy lifting, carrying gear, hiking, and working in rugged outdoor environments for extended period of time.</li><li>Willingness to work in challenging weather conditions, often in remote locations with limited amenities, including no cell phone service</li></ul>Team &amp; Professional Responsibilities<ul><li>Work effectively as part of a crew in high-stress environments</li><li>Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors and teammates</li><li>Maintain a positive, disciplined attitude on and off the fireline</li><li>Show up on time, prepared, and physically ready for work</li><li>Represent the company professionally during training and fire assignments</li></ul>Physical &amp; Environmental Expectations<ul><li>Hike long distances over uneven terrain/steep hills while carrying equipment</li><li>Perform repetitive manual labor for extended periods</li><li>Work in smoke, heat, dust, and inclement weather</li><li>Remain alert and responsive during dynamic fire conditions</li></ul>This role offers an opportunity to develop critical skills in Wildfire Management while contributing directly to community safety.
