Compensation: Flat salary with annual bonus tied to individual and company goals

Role Overview

The Centralized Billing Manager oversees the onshore billing team for a 30+ practice dental group. This role is responsible for managing patient accounts receivable and insurance AR exceptions that cannot be resolved by the offshore team. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the full dental RCM lifecycle, a strong operational mindset, and a patient-first approach to billing.

This role focuses on efficiency, accountability, and compassionate communication&mdash;ensuring revenue goals are met while maintaining a high standard of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership &amp; Operations
<ul>
<li>Manage, coach, and support the onshore billing team</li>
</ul><ul><li>Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly billing workflows to ensure timeliness and accuracy</li>
</ul><ul><li>Partner closely with the Offshore Billing Manager to ensure smooth handoffs and clear escalation paths</li>
</ul><ul><li>Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members</li>
</ul><ul><li>Foster a positive, patient-focused and collaborative team culture</li>
</ul>
Revenue Cycle Management
<ul>
<li>Oversee patient AR and complex insurance AR exceptions</li>
</ul><ul><li>Ensure timely follow-up on unpaid claims, denials, and underpayments</li>
</ul><ul><li>Monitor claim lifecycle performance and identify opportunities to improve speed and accuracy</li>
</ul><ul><li>Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and internal billing policies</li>
</ul><ul><li>Collaborate with Credentialing to resolve payer enrollment or network-related issues</li>
</ul>
Process Improvement &amp; Efficiency
<ul>
<li>Identify inefficiencies in workflows and implement improvements</li>
</ul><ul><li>Standardize processes across practices where appropriate</li>
</ul><ul><li>Support automation and best practices to reduce rework and aging AR</li>
</ul><ul><li>Serve as a subject matter expert for dental billing and insurance processes</li>
</ul>
Patient Experience
<ul>
<li>Ensure patient billing inquiries are handled with empathy, clarity, and professionalism</li>
</ul><ul><li>Support the team in resolving patient balances while maintaining trust and transparency</li>
</ul><ul><li>Reinforce the organization's belief that patient care always comes first</li>
</ul>
Reporting &amp; Accountability
<ul>
<li>Create and deliver regular reporting to the Director of RCM</li>
</ul><ul><li>Track KPIs such as AR aging, collections, denial rates, and team productivity</li>
</ul><ul><li>Ensure team goals and deadlines are consistently met</li>
</ul>
Qualifications

Required
<ul>
<li>4+ years of dental billing and/or insurance RCM experience</li>
</ul><ul><li>2+ years of people management or team lead experience</li>
</ul><ul><li>Strong understanding of the full dental claim lifecycle</li>
</ul><ul><li>Experience handling both insurance and patient AR</li>
</ul><ul><li>Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills</li>
</ul>
Preferred
<ul>
<li>Experience in a multi-location dental group or centralized billing model</li>
</ul><ul><li>Proven success in process improvement and operational efficiency</li>
</ul><ul><li>Comfort working cross-functionally with offshore teams</li>
</ul>
