PMH Mobile Phlebotomist &ndash; Calexico, CAPMH Laboratory, Inc. is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and professional Mobile Phlebotomist to join our growing team serving Calexico. This position is ideal for a dependable healthcare professional who enjoys working independently while providing exceptional patient care in physician offices.As the face of our laboratory, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding customer service while ensuring specimens are collected, documented, and transported according to laboratory standards.Responsibilities<ul><li>Perform venipuncture, capillary collections, and specimen collection using proper techniques and safety protocols.</li><li>Travel throughout the Calexico area to assigned facility locations.</li><li>Verify patient identity using government-issued identification and insurance information.</li><li>Collect and accurately document patient demographic information.</li><li>Ensure every requisition includes:</li><li>Complete patient demographics</li><li>Valid physician order</li><li>ICD-10 diagnosis codes</li><li>Physician notes when required</li><li>Copy of insurance information</li><li>Copy of patient identification</li><li>Review requisition forms for completeness before specimen collection.</li><li>Process, label, package, and await courier for transportation of specimens while maintaining specimen integrity and chain of custody.</li><li>Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, and laboratory quality assurance standards.</li><li>Communicate professionally with physicians, nursing staff, patients, laboratory personnel as well as administration and HR.</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation and complete daily collection/supply logs.</li><li>Represent PMH Laboratory with professionalism, integrity, and exceptional customer service.</li></ul>Qualifications Required<ul><li>Current California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT I or CPT II) License.</li><li>National Phlebotomy Certification (CPT or equivalent).</li><li>Minimum 3 years of professional phlebotomy experience.</li><li>Must reside in or near Calexico, California.</li><li>Valid California driver's license with reliable personal transportation.</li><li>Current automobile insurance meeting California requirements.</li><li>Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.</li><li>Ability to travel locally throughout assigned territory.</li><li>Excellent venipuncture and capillary collection skills across diverse patient populations.</li><li>Strong understanding of specimen collection, processing, labeling, and transportation requirements.</li><li>Working knowledge of laboratory procedures, specimen handling techniques, and medical terminology.</li><li>Proficiency in reviewing and obtaining:</li><li>ICD-10 diagnosis codes</li><li>Physician orders</li><li>Clinical notes</li><li>Insurance verification</li><li>Patient identification</li><li>Complete demographic information</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to work independently while managing daily routes and priorities.</li><li>Basic computer proficiency and ability to complete electronic documentation.</li></ul>Preferred<ul><li>Prior experience in a clinical laboratory, diagnostic laboratory, physician office, hospital, or mobile phlebotomy setting.</li><li>Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and advanced venipuncture techniques.</li></ul>Skills &amp; Attributes<ul><li>Outstanding bedside manner with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.</li><li>Friendly, professional, and courteous demeanor.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.</li><li>Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.</li><li>Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced healthcare environments.</li><li>Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and specimen quality.</li><li>Ability to positively represent PMH Laboratory and uphold our commitment to excellence.</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.</li><li>Frequent driving throughout the assigned service area.</li><li>Ability to perform repetitive hand movements associated with specimen collection.</li><li>Visual acuity sufficient to accurately identify veins, labels, and patient information.</li></ul>Why Join PMH Laboratory?At PMH Laboratory, we believe exceptional patient care starts with exceptional people.
