The Scrap Buyer position is responsible for sourcing, developing and maintaining relationships with current and potential suppliers of scrap metal, ensuring that the company has a solid pipeline of material.Essential Functions:<ul><li>Sources clients through outreach, including site visits, cold calls and networking events; develops relationships and transitions those relationships into active accounts</li><li>Develops and negotiates purchase strategy to ensure retention of accounts</li><li>Maintains knowledge of scrap metal materials and total production costs; visually inspects materials for purchase, concentrating on type, size, condition, coloring, marking or other characteristics</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>5-10 years&rsquo; prior sales experience</li><li>Strong knowledge of the scrap metal recycling industry, including ability to differentiate materials and grades</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Hermiston, OR 97838
