This role requires precision, technical skill, and a strong focus on safety and quality. Here's a job description for a Machine Operator in the granite and stone industry:Responsibilities and Duties: <ul><li>Set up CNC machines and saws according to job specifications, including loading materials, selecting appropriate tools, and programming the machines.</li></ul><ul><li>Operate CNC machines and saws to cut, shape, and finish granite and stone materials with precision and efficiency.</li></ul><ul><li>Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.</li></ul><ul><li>Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards, including measurements, surface finish, and edge profiles.</li></ul><ul><li>Identify and address any defects or issues in the production process.</li></ul><ul><li>Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to prevent issues.</li></ul><ul><li>Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.</li></ul><ul><li>Conduct safety checks on machinery before and after each use.</li></ul><ul><li>Safely handle and move granite and stone slabs, ensuring they are positioned correctly for cutting and processing.</li></ul><ul><li>Manage inventory and organize materials in the workspace.</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain and replace cutting tools and saw blades as needed.</li></ul><ul><li>Keep tools and equipment in good working condition.</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain records of machine settings, production data, and quality control checks.</li></ul><ul><li>Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors.</li></ul>Required Skills:<ul><li>Attention to detail and precision in work</li></ul><ul><li>Previous experience within the granite and stone industry preferred</li></ul><ul><li>Strong problem-solving skills</li></ul><ul><li>Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols</li></ul><ul><li>Effective communication skills</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications</li></ul><ul><li>The ability to lift 50 or more pounds</li></ul>Education and Experience:<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li></ul><ul><li>Previous CNC/SAW experience</li></ul><ul><li>Attention to detail and precision in work</li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of stone materials, cutting techniques, and tooling</li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency in operating CNC machinery and saws, including programming and troubleshooting</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: From $21.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Health savings account</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>On-the-job training</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Referral program</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>CNC programming: 1 year (Required)</li><li>CAD: 1 year (Required)</li><li>Blueprint reading: 1 year (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Grandville, MI 49418 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
